Celebrating a century of Harrogate Flower Shows

The rip roaring 1920’s are set to be the theme for this year’s Harrogate Spring Flower Show as the North of England Horticultural Society (NEHS) celebrates a century of flower shows! The NEHS supported its first gardening event in 1920 and is marking the occasion by taking show visitors back to the days of Charlie Chaplin, Jazz and the Charleston.

Featuring the very latest in show garden inspiration, plus great ideas for tight-space planting and mini gardens. Nearly 100 top UK nurseries provide an unrivalled choice of plants, as well as creating fabulous displays. The show also hosts Britain’s biggest exhibition of flower arranging and floristry.

A packed programme of talks and demonstrations offers live entertainment across four theatres. Crafts, gifts, specialist foods and great garden shopping all make for the perfect day out for gardeners!

Countryside Live

Saturday 19th – Sunday 20th October 2019

Celebrating the very best of the countryside, this two-day event is mostly undercover so you’ll have fun whatever the weather.

A great day out for all the family including music and entertainment. Interactive and hands on activities including willow weaving, meet the animals and rural crafts.

There is plenty to do inside both halls at the YEC and activities and classes held across the rings and external space surrounding the event centre.

A great day out for all the family including music and entertainment from the Countryside Live pub and the younger ones can have a go at operating a real life digger in the Diggerland experience. Expect plenty of FREE interactive and hands on activities for youngsters including willow weaving, meet the animals (including exotic animals) and rural crafts.

Famous Faces:

Julia Bradbury will front this year’s Countryside Live for the first time. Best known for presenting BBC Countryfile and Britain’s Best Walks on ITV, Julia is renowned for being genuinely passionate about the countryside and outdoor pursuits.

Julian and Peter who star in Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet, will also appear on the Main Stage as well as signing and selling their new books in the Tipsy Heifer Pub. Peter will appear on Saturday 19 October with his newly released book “My Yorkshire Great and Small”, a heart-warming love letter to the places, people and animals of Yorkshire. Julian will be a special guest on Sunday 20 October with his books including the latest: “On Call with a Yorkshire Vet” a diary-style book, full of short stories and anecdotes, published by Great Northern Books.

The I Do Wedding Show 2019 will take centre stage in Harrogate this October. Hosting over 120 of your finest, local wedding suppliers. All eager to help you organise your special day. Wedding shows are the perfect day out to plan your wedding day.

Featuring everything you’ll need to source all the products, suppliers and inspiration for your wedding, all under one roof.

Starting with a drinks reception and free goodie bags full of treats. The popular Milan style catwalk shows will run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Your wedding planned in one day – I Do Wedding Show 2019 will feature:

  • A host of entertainment, from musicians to magicians
  • Wedding car display featuring classic, vintage, modern and prestige vehicles
