2018 saw continued venue improvements at the YEC. The Yorkshire Café, which links Hall 1 and Hall 2 has undergone an amazing refit. YEC is attracting more and more visitors to the venue with each event. This latest project is a great example of how our venue continues to grow and improve. We are always keen to take on feedback from visitors, exhibitors and organisers to find out how we can make their experience even better.
The café is open during all conferences, exhibitions and events held in hall 2 but can be accessed from both halls. Offering plenty of natural light and fantastic views across the showground. The café is ideal for a morning coffee to plan your visit or for a catch up lunch with colleagues or friends during an event.
We wanted to make the most of the bright and functional space the Hall 2 café offered. The refit brings the café in line with the contemporary feel of the Hall 1 café. The transformation completely changing the feel and dynamics of the existing café space.
The new design improves the facilities we offer and enhances visitors overall experience. This exciting renovation will allow us to optimise the way visitors flow through the cafe area to relieve pressure points.
We caught up with Lizzie Baxendale at CGC our long term event catering partners. Lizzie’s role at CGC sees her managing the Yorkshire Café. On event days visitors are able to enjoy classic snacks and sandwiches or a range of hot meals and daily specials. Our firm favourite here has to be “YAPAS”. Yorkshire tapas; featuring pork pies, cold meats and help yourself salads.
Lizzie said “The update of the new café was very much about customer experience. The queues can flow more easily and it’s more versatile. We now have the flexibility to alter the layout . Depending on what the menu will be we can tailor it to each event’’
More exciting improvements are planned for 2019.
